The inner structure of this is its most interesting attribute. While reading I was trying to figure the best way to explain it, until David Mitchell himself said it best - late in the novel and not about the novel.
In the first set, each solo is interrupted by it successor: in the second, each interruption is recontinued, in order. Revolutionary or gimmicky? Shan't know until it's finished, and by then it'll be too late ...The first two stories are its best, in my opinion. Mitchell tells his 185 ...more
