Huh....I've been waiting a while to read this, having heard about Camus for years. It was good, but not at all what I expected, and a wee bit too short....definitely requires a re-read! (Already!) ...more

A strange book but one that leaves a deep impression. Meursault is the outsider, the stranger, the foreigner - the alien. He's gone along from day to day getting by in society pretty much by chance and because people are willing to mould themselves around his -what is it? Intransigence? Camus's books are definitely not for everyone. I had to read this for school and I'll be honest, I wouldn't recommend anyone to read this unless they were willing to really study it. There is a lot of meaning behind what Camus is trying to say and you have to really dig deep to figure it out. Good book, just really my thing. ...more

Livre étrange, où je ne pouvais pas m'identifier avec le personnage principal pendant un moment, même pas en finale. Dans mon esprit, ce roman aura toujours le sous-titre: l'histoire d'un sociopath. Je comprends bien parce qu'il a été un tel succès, mais pas du tout mon genre de livre, je ne l'oublierai jamais plus.
