This is my third Kundera, and he sure does tread the same waters, thematically. But they're large and reinterpretable (memory, sex, laughter, the unbearable-ness of living).
The way he writes (the authorial voice comes and goes, sometimes we're watching action, sometimes in a character's head, sometimes being told by the author what to think or that the author isn't sure what he thinks) lends itself perfectly to the sort of revisiting he does.
