I was somehow disappointed by this book. Sure it was a great read; fantastic characters, interesting ideas, and an engaging story, but I just had incredibly high expectations. Oryx & Crake and Year of the Flood were both amazing books and I was hoping that the final volume of the trilogy would be even better. It was good, but not as good as the other two. A satisfying ending to the trilogy. I liked how it still gave backstory as it told the story of the world after the waterless flood. The Crakers are so innocent and I always chuckled when the young Craker, Blackbeard, would talk about "Fuck" like he were a person. I still liked the first book the best, but all in all a great trilogy. ...more

Whilst I enjoyed this, as I did the entire series, I found it frustrating that the bulk of it was back story and there wasn't much movement forward, and the movement forward at the end was very rapid and didn't engage you as much as it could have. ...more
