At first I was like:

And then Mal happened and I was like:

And then the struggle:

So here's pretty much the summary of S & S:

"Alina!" Mal cried longingly.

"Mal!" Alina cried worriedly.

"Alina!" Mal cried jealously.

"Mal!" Alina cried frustratingly.

"ALINAAAAA" Mal cried incredulously, yet with a hint of jealousy.

"MAL!!!!!" Alina cried weakly as the darkness loomed over.

I really loved the first book in the series, so much that I wrote the author a fan letter. I mean, it was beautifully written, just perfect. I am just now really getting to enjoy the series again, and I adored Siege and Storm, probably more than I did the first one. It's pacing is awesome. Alina is a wonderful character, and the way that Bardugo controls her pen, gives us three other interesting characters who are so strong and yet they don't have a point of view. That is good writing. I’ll give 4 stars because I’m a sucker for this genre. Parts of it dragged on to long, however it was still enjoyable. Not sure if I would reread it, but I’m hoping the last in the series will make the slower parts of this one with it.
