I have now read this book 5 times and I still love it and recommend it to anyone who likes a good historical/time-travel/love story/big old chunkster! Seriously, this is the fastest 850 pages I've ever read. I never get tired of this series.
Jamie and Claire are still hot. I still love Gabaldon's writing style.
I still **`REALLY, REALLY** like the love scenes...one in particular, fellow fans know the one I'm talking about, nudge nudge, wink, wink!

Page 225 into the book and I can't not be surprised by the author's basic writing style and choice not to give characters some more dimension. It's all x did y, y did z, etc., etc. Sure people complain that the protagonist forgets her husband, but maybe she doesn't; we don't know--there's very little introspection, very little examination of what characters think, feel, and why they act. Like I said before, x does y, y does z. Just because. Because it's no big deal an it has to happen? I guess.

I had read this when this first came out, but had forgotten how well written it is. Yes, there is some juicy sex between Claire and Jamie, but the research she put into this book is wonderful. The historical aspect is well researched. I can't wait read the rest.
