This is the novel which introduced me with Murakamis writing. I just stumbled upon an interesting cover in a local book store and decided to give it a try. I haven't regretted it since - I loved Murakami's writing style and this particular story.

Ok..... the good points.... I found all the characters to be drawn so well that I feel like I know them personally. Kudos to any author who can make a multiple murderer into a truly sympathtic..even admirable character. The work takes on several subjects.... religion, love, aspects of reality and fiction. I suspect the characters and story will stay with me for a long time.
On the negative side... I don't understand the points being raised. Also, I'm not partial to most science fiction or alterna ...more
