"Storm's coming, Will, whether you're ready or not."

wow, what an amazing story. it kept me hooked from each story line, each new character and each bit of information as I continued through the story.

and all the pieces did come together. I absolutely love Evie (Evil). she is funny and adventurous and a little spitfire. But she's also selfish and mildly unruly at times. I love that Will and Sam keep her on her toes and try to keep her in-line. Jericho too

This book started so well. It is really my first foray into YA, and I have to admit that when I picked it up from the library and was told it was a YA book I really had no idea. And as I started reading it, I still had no idea why it was YA, save that the main characters were all around 18 years old. Anyway, the story built up really well and it was good getting introduced to the characters. I disliked the main character, Evie at first, but as she matured she got a lot better and I really warmed ...more

The storyline of The Diviners reminds me very much of a ghost story told around a campfire... or possibly an early episode of Supernatural. Especially with the haunting song.

The best part of this book was the atmosphere of NYC in the 1920s. The author did a great job of making you feel like you were a part of that scene. The rest of the book was just okay. I didn't feel like she fleshed out any of her characters very well, especially Evie, who is supposed to be our heroine (?). Yes, she was intr ...more
