"Sometimes it seems like everything I've done has been to help you be ready for someone else."

Ugh, nope. Nope nope nope. I didn't like this one. I want to blame it on the fact that I've read 3 or 4 dystopian books back to back - which is always a bad idea - but that's not it.

I just...didn't connect with anyone in this book. And, I don't agree with Cassia. Most of her actions & attractions just don't make sense,

and the world just didn't come alive. it was like I had to use all the other books I'

This was an interesting story. I didn't get as emotionally invested as I do with some books, which I find to be true for utopian/distopian type novels, but I did find myself reflecting, and even journaling, on quite a bit on certain aspects of the story. Well written but very teen oriented. Did not end how I wanted but I will be reading the second book.

This was a very interesting book. Choice is not given in this Society. Everything is predetermined based on data collected to make the best outcome.

Until one girl decides that she wants to make her own choices.

It reminded me a lot of the Hunger Games where the government completely controls it's citizens and there is a love triangle. I did think Hunger Games was more suspenseful but I couldn't put this book down either. ...more

Some interesting ideas. Nice dystopian, kinda slow but it was in keeping with the story so not too bad. Didnt actually like Xander all that much, he was a bit weird from the get-go but maybe that just me. Will be reading book 2.
