First Thoughts:
I’ve been waiting for this final book for a very long time and I am so glad I finally was able to read it. Though this isn’t my favorite of the series it did have a certain feel to it that made the reading fun and enjoyable. This was a highly anticipated and exciting book and though it may have a different feel to it than the other two books I did feel that by the very last page it was worth the effort. Audiobook thoughts at the end of this review.
Bitterblue is different from the first two books, Graceling and Fire, so I can understand why many people were disappointed with it. I was not.
It is a much darker book than the previous two. The Kingdom of Monsea is still recovering from the treachery of Leck and Bitterblue, now an adult, begins to suspect that she is not being told the whole truth of what is going on in her city. Determined to get to the bottom of it, she sets off on an investigation ...more

What an amazing story! I was in love from cover to cover. This book brings back all of your favorite characters including the infamous Katsa and Po. Not only do you get you old favorite characters back but your introduced with many new ones as well. With all these new characters and kingdoms I was pretty happy Cashore had a list of characters along with maps in the back of the book to help keep everything straight. This book was different from anything I've ever read. Most books have a 'bad guy'
