2.5 stars. Very long, very slow and very political I am VERY disappointed with this book, it is not the exciting adventure nor sweet romance novel of the first 2 Graceling books. Since Bitterblue isn't a Graceling, you don't even have that unique perspective to marvel at. It seemed like the author had a page requirement and kept adding scenes to make her quota with very little substance.
If I didn't love the supporting characters so much, I would've given this book less stars.

Last year, I returned to the 'Graceling Realm' world and didn't understand the series's second installment. After finishing 'Bitterblue,' I understand it, and I am very fond of it. I am also glad to read about old beloved characters as Bitterblue, Katza, Po, and even Fire.

As a whole, I wasn't very impressed with this series. It had the potential to be great, but these lead female characters we lacking. Bitterblue was the best of the 3.

I really liked this third book in the Graceling realm, and I loved how the author tied in Fire. Very nicely done. I loved Bitterblue the character. She was devoted to doing what was right, and had very admirable qualities, making it easy to stand behind her as the reader. I'm not a fan of some of the moral issues Cashore always throws in her stories, but since they aren't the brunt of the story line, they don't bother me. I'm always a little worried about the inner workings of the authors mind w
