I'm not sure if I'm just burnt out on the trilogy aftermarket "just like Hunger Games" hype or if this is just not that great of a book, but I was unimpressed.
I'm tired of the love triangles - this one was so dull and uninteresting, I tended to gloss or all-together skip their conversations. Only when Jayden jumped into a conversation with Kira did I get my eyebrows up (and there wasn't even a romance there!!! But he sounded like the hottest guy in there!).

Quite interesting elements - the virology and hunt for the cure; the survivalist aspects - salvage, extreme focus of knowledge (Kira says herself that their science seems a little like magic as the groundwork to the science and technology was all lost; they can perform in-vitro fertilisation but they can't read a clock); and the societal response to the Partial war.
