"“The world is a vampire, sent to drain …,” Romeo is singing, bits of a song that was popular the last time we were on earth. It’s a disturbing song about vampires and rats, and the way Romeo sings it makes it even more terrifying, a choirboy confessing a murder."

this was So good. SO SO SO good. Who knew we got it wrong, we knew so little about our star crossed lovers....our Romeo and Juliet!

But I won't say more. Come into this book knowing as little as possible. DON"T read spoiler reviews, DON

Okay, I know that I have given a lot of negative reviews lately, and I really am sorry about that. I want to give books the benefit of the doubt, but I would rather be honest with my review than to say it has more good qualities than it does and then you might pick it up and hate it just as much as me. One of my all time favorite stories may just be Romeo and Juilette so I was excited for this book. I knew going in that this would be different. This story wowed me. Quick read, I enjoyed this more than I expected to. I wasnt into the paranormal-ness at all, it just read as mumbo-jumbo to me but I liked the actual story. Glad this book came up as a book-of-the-month, I wouldnt havent picked it up otherwise, and it turned out to be quite entertaining.

This book is a great way for teen readers to get inspired to read the original Romeo and Juliet. The story has deep themes and is heavy based on "perspective." It is an interesting take on Shakespeare's love story. ...more
