4.5 stars. Long book, but easy, interesting read. Explores a world where witches, vampires and daemons walk mostly unnoticed among humans. A sweet and funny story of a romance between an ancient French vampire and a stubborn American witch.

I liked listening to this tale with a different look at witches, vampires and demons. This is a re-listen and 8 years can delete a lot of memory of a storyline in some cases. This is one of those. I wanted to re-read or re-listen after watching some episodes of the very good television series that is airing. A really good job of casting and keeping to the book's storyline.

I gave this book 5 stars, but I think I would give it 4 1/2 if I could. Usually when a book is amazing, I agree with everthing in it, and I didn't with this one. Having said that, it was still a pretty fantastic story. It reminded me quite a bit of Diana Gabaldon's "Outlander" series in its details, introductions of characters, and plot twists, and then of course there is the insanely intense love story similarities. At the same time, this book will definitle appeal to Twilight fans, but with a
