What Members Thought

This book sucked me in from the first page and I couldn't put it down. A fantasy story about books and time travel. Yes!!
I loved the fantasy aspect of this story. Magical books where some are good and some are evil. Then you have good and evil people using them. What I loved is how the author just portrayed the love for books throughout the story.
The time travel was fun. I loved how everything was weaved together and most questions that I had throughout the book was answered.
I absolutely loved ...more

I really loved the concept of this book: a world with magical books including one that can let you go anywhere. As magical and lovely as it seems, there is also horror and terror in it. It certainly kept me going.
I will say that at times there are random side conversations that do not develop the plot and are odd and awkward, and one of the villains seems randomly made into a nasty bigot almost as a ploy to make him seem bad. Besides Cassie and The Woman, the characters aren't really developed ...more

If a magical book could grant you any power, what would you choose? Perhaps the ability to heal, or to bring joy to others. The power to protect the innocent or to inspire change. With such a gift, one could do so much good in the world. The possibilities are endless, limited only by your imagination and the strength of your character. What power would you wield, and how would you use it to make the world a better place? Or would you descend into evil?

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧
Set the story inside a bookstore or library or have your protagonist be a librarian or bookseller or your ordinary bookworm and I'll want to read them. Make those books magical and I'll want to read them NOW.
I love the setting of this book and the idea of the magical properties of these books were very interesting. Unfortunately, I didn't find the characters that engaging at all except for a couple of side characters. I appreciated how the story ends in a closed circle sort o ...more
