I love the gentle, deadpan humour in Osman's books & the sangfroid with which his characters greet the most frightening & bizarre of circumstances. Rosie D'Antonio is a delightful old broad, tough, resilient & fun, & Steve Wheeler is so laid back he's almost horizontal, must be all those years in the police force that have made him immune to any of the vagaries of human nature. "But we don't solve murders," says Steve.
He can hear Amy smiling down the phone. "Then we're going to have to start."

This was a fun adventure of a tale. It's a great start to a series - as this intros all the characters and sets up a fun mystery. I loved Amy, Steve and Rosie. If these are our on-going crime solving trio, then I am anxious to see book 2! I thought they were such a fun group. I loved the humor, the banter and each unique personality.

The author of the fabulous Thursday Murder Club series has blessed us all with another set of sleuths in this bodyguard daughter in law and her retired detective father in law. When Amy discovers that she is being framed for a series of influencer murders, she drags Steve from his self-imposed isolation to help save her life. They are a great duo, and the mystery is twisty and strange. Add in a surrounding cast of characters that includes a famous novelist, an actor, and Steve's pub quiz friends ...more

Didn’t love it, but this is my reading funk time of year. Will consider reading next in series

Though it was a lot of fun, We Solve Murders was hampered by too many character names and too many twists. I missed the climax the first time around and had to go back for it, so that seems to be an area for growth as well.
