Sad how long it took me to read this book, and certainly no reflection on how good the book is. I admit I picked this book up at the library in an attempt to fill the void I was feeling because I couldn't get my hands on The Raven Boys. I loved this book. I loved the pacing of it. I loved how each chapter began with the temperature, it carried a storyline all its own. Definitely recommend. ...more

Shiver is set in a fictional town in modern-day Minnesota. The primary protagonists, Grace and Sam, are teenagers experiencing the giddy sensation of first love—except that Sam is not merely human; he is a werewolf. Grace indulges herself in an obsession with the wolves who live in the woods behind her house, although she does not at first fully understand quite why.

This book was nothing if not awesome. It is a truly romantic love story in the style of Romeo and Juliet: two young people never meant to be together, but defy the odds - and werewolves - to find a solution. The author ignores many stereotypes and makes the wolves her own, and the ending is spectacular. I recommend this book to everyone!
