Lucy Foley does it again! This was such a great story, a fun adventure of a mystery!

A new top-of-the line resort style retreat has been created in the midst of a forest. The locals hate it, the people staying love it - and the creator must keep it all perfect. Lucy Foley is a master of multiple POV. We get a lot of perspectives here, but their personalities and voices were easy to decipher and I never had to wonder who's POV I was in.

I absolutely LOVED this novel! It was such a fun, twisty-turny mystery with lots of back story and crazy twists. I loved each of the reveals, right down to the very last sentence. As I tried to write my review, I realized that there’s not much I can say without accidentally giving something away. I will say that I was so entertained with the wealthy, boujie aesthetic and the creepy, folklore ambiance of the woods. Shelves: thriller-obsession, audiobooks, crime-mystery, all-the-drama, domestic-thriller, borrowed-audiobooks, never-so-bored-in-my-life

This is not my first Lucy Foley book but it will probably be my last. They all sound fun on paper, yet the thrills and the suspense are missing entirely. I feel like the focus is too much on creating the characters as puzzle pieces and not enough on creating them as characters... They are interesting but up to a point.

And how can a book that could embrace so much folklore and superstition be so... not thrilling?

I did like the final reveal a lot, but it wasn't enough.
