3.5 stars.. Interesting premise of a bean sidhe (banshee) singing someone's death. I liked that female bean sidhe sing someone's death delaying someone's soul from leaving their body and male bean sidhe can Influence people and return a soul. Very unusual paranormal talent and the execution of story was enjoyable.
Likes:
* Bean sidhe (banshee) = soul screamer
* Emma Marshall, Kaylee's beautiful, curvy best friend
* Beautiful, kind Nash Hudson (even though in real life, I wouldn't trust him)

The bean sidhe (banshee) mythology in this book was very interesting and refreshing to read after so many vampire books. Kaylee and Nash were likeable main characters that you found yourself caring about. The rest of the characters, especially Sophie, were pretty stereotypical, but the story moved along so nicely that it didn't seem to matter. The writing and subject matter were appropriate for younger readers.

Good hero, lame romance. Great mythology. It was distracting trying to parse bean sidhe into "ban-shee" every time it came up, but I'm sure I'll be over it by the time the next book comes out. And I *will* read the next book, for sure. A good kickoff for Harlequin Teen.

Black shadows, veils that hold back the underworld and a girl that can fortell the death of another.

Amazing story that sucked me in. I picked it up thinking I would just read a chapter or 2 (that's all I really had time for) and before I knew two hours were gone and the book was over...and I wanted MORE!
Kaylee and her world are easy to slide into. And Kaylee is snarky attitude and witty to boot! Nash is sweet and protective but not crazy aggressive bad boy.

at first i didn't think i would be interested in this book, but that changed. i like how kay pretty much stayed grounded while finding out who she really is. my biggest complaint is the overuse of the word 'proverbial'. that got a bit irritating. but other than that, the story was fast paced, with good character development. i was very shocked to find out that (view spoiler) . i was also shocked to hear about (view s
