I've been a fan of John Scalzi since reading Old Man's War in 2021. Then there's Ghost Brigade, Kaiju Society, Redshirts, Lock In...Scalzi is one of the authors I will happily read all and anything he writes. He has, what I call, a sub-genre of science fiction called smartass science fiction. Dry, smartass narration by the main character and I LOVE IT! Especially in audio format and narrated by the perfect narrator Wil Wheaton.

This was a fun and easy read, as I expect from Scalzi. But it didn’t exceed expectations. There were cute cats, and rude dolphins, but the viewpoint character was more of a pawn than a driving force. He occasionally made a move, to the surprise of all about him, but I was hoping for more of a moment of awesome from him.
