This was a wonderful gothic horror. I have to admit, I pre-ordered this without even reading the synopsis. The title and author was all I needed to click that button and I have zero regrets. I loved going in blind.

This is a story of family, loss and secrets. It's about a shared childhood 2 siblings remember different. It's about the love of a mom, both Louise's mom and Louise to her daughter Poppy. It's how family should always be there for family.

Oh this book was a trip.

I felt that the beginning of the book was so slow. I wasn't too much of a fan of Louise. She felt a bit annoying and whiney at times. Mark, her brother, felt like a stronger character.

Why does every super creepy horror book have to have puppets or dolls or clowns. By about 3/4 of the way through the book I couldn't put it down because I had to know what was happening, especially with Pupkin.
