Re-read this for a book discussion with my Soulfinders reading group on Facebook! I was pleasantly surprised by how well written it is. It was my first attempt to write a novel. Yelena is a murderer, hands down, absolutely uncontested. And then she gets a second chance - to be the food taster for the Commander in the militaristic regime - a job that could kill her just as easily as the noose. What she didn't expect, though, was the exhiliration of being alive and having a chance to stay that way.

Another book I heard about through goodreads -- and I really enjoyed it. It's listed as a Young Adult book, but it's definitely for grown ups, too.
