I saved Carrie Soto’s return to the tennis court until all the hype over Serena Williams’s farewell to tennis ended. Watching Williams with a racket in her hand is spectacular – even if her personality sometimes blurred my support. I didn’t always like her or Carrie. But I came to admire their ambition, stamina and willpower to overcome the tests of time.

I have absolutely loved some TJR (Evelyn Hugo in particular!), and there have been some I haven't been quite as enthralled by. But I absolutely loved this one! I read this while traveling, and so it took me a bit longer to get through, and I ended up being so excited every time I had a few minutes to get back to it.
