An awesome book. Very sad but when you're dealing with the subject of a war it usually is. It kept my attention and thought using Death as the narrator was a nice touch. Loved the characters and story. I highly recommend it. ...more

I've just finished The Book Thief. It was intensely haunting, exquisitely written and I believe will stay with me forever. If you have not read this book, you should drop everything you're doing and go start it now. Wow, this is how it's really supposed to be done. The words will echo in my mind...

The audio narration was well-done, but I'm possibly well into the minority here that I wasn't BLOWN AWAY by this book as I have been by other books that are similar in subject matter (and also fictional accounts).

City of Thieves is from the Russian PoV and I found it far more moving emotionally.

Heck Number the Stars wrecked me when I was a lot younger.

A wonderful and sad tale about a girl in 1942 Germany who finds joy through words and books. A must read for any YA lover.

I loved this book and showing a different of World War II small-german town. I believe this book is approriate for adults. Awesome read!

I highly recommend the audiobook. I had to finish the last 150 pages of the book myself instead of listening due to time constraints for book club discussion of said book. But the narrator's voice was in my head just like Liesel reading aloud to the others. ...more
