This was excellent. I enjoyed Ernest's story and getting to know his family's story. Right from the start, I was pulled in to the story. I liked all of the characters (even the unlikeable ones) and the mystery itself kept me guessing (even though the clues were there in the story); which pretty much makes a good mystery novel to me. The deaths were violent, but not so much so that they turned me off from the story.
