I enjoy reading books that teach me something, Firekeeper's Daughter is about the Native American people. It is a book for more mature YA, Angeline Boulley did her research on the problems of methamphetamine addiction and how it affects communities. I was engrossed in the book because she's a wonderful storyteller. Isabella Star LaBlanc's narration is breathtaking, and I suggest you read the book while listening to the audiobook.

Tough but gripping story of a young woman (starting college) who has family in both the local Indian community and the white privileged circle in her small town and who feels like a part of both, yet is also rejected sometimes by both.
