What Members Thought

"Something wicked lurks in these shadows."
This was an interesting take on Jack the Ripper and translating it into something YA.
But it lost me a little somewhere. I just didn't love it as much as I thought I would. First, Audrey Rose is a little hard to like. Loved it and if Goodreads would allow half stars I would have giving this a 4.5. I cannot wait to see what she writes next. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is it really lagged for me until about 100 pages. I don't know if it was the book, the writing, or just my state of mind when I picked up this book. I figured out the who done it part about 3/4's of the way, which is ok with me. I loved the ending and the twist. I love how you wondered about who Jack the Ripper is throughout the book an

Ratings purely on basis on the fun I've had listening to this audiobook. Lots of unbelievable stuff, of course, as I expected, but I just had to turn that switch off in my brain and just go for the ride. Audrey Rose Wadsworth is an easily likeable protagonist and her romantic interest, Thomas Cresswell, is just as adorable. If you're after a fluffy fun read, this is one to consider.

This story was just a okay story to me with Audrey being a girl that love science and medicine. She sees herself working with the dead with her uncle. But being a lady that is frown upon in her time. She's to sew and knit with girls her age and gossip. But she doesn't want to do that. So why working with her uncle she is determined to find out who Jack the Ripper really is. With the help of Thomas a boy that works with her uncle too. They out doing their own investigation. With women that worked
