There were some interesting things to think about when reading this book. I just wish the book itself had been more interesting. I kept waiting for something to happen, and it there just wasn't enough going on to justify the length of the book. I'm guessing it's mainly because this is the first book in a planned series, and this was the setup to the rest of the books. Still, I had a hard time not falling asleep while I was reading.

Just read this for a second time with my hubby! Again, LOVED this weird twisted story about the right and wrong nuances of humanity and morality.

My favorite read of 2018 so far!! Such an intriguing depiction of what it means to be human and mortal, good and evil, justice and mercy, and how human might take for granted life. Such an interesting book.

A good dystopian sci-fi adventure. Non-stop action and a well explained alternate futuristic existence. Citra and Rowan are reluctant apprentices of the Scythedom, one of whom will become an official Scythe and glean a quota of people to keep balance in a world that has cured death, disease, but needs to keep the extreme overpopulation at bay to continue to survive.

A sold 4 star read. I enjoyed this more than I expected. It was on my TBR shelf for quite some time.

Absolutely loved this one, too...

Heartbreaking
And... well... he was still just a kid. A bit unbelievable.
And I don't like her chosen name. (Though... it's Nastasya Romanov, actually... I wonder if Neal Shusterman is aware of that...)
