This was a buddy read with all my friends at Young Adult Book of the Month. It was enjoyable young adult book that left you wanting more. It leaves tons of questions unanswered and the main characters have lots of room to grow and mature. My 2 favorite characters (The empress and Kanako) are barely touched on and provided the most excitement and drama of the book. They are both awesome female characters who I wished would have played a larger role (page total).
