People like us in situations like this become hashtags, but they rarely get justice.I think we all wait for that one time though, that one time when it ends right.

Angie is an artist is all I can say. She managed to write a book about a very sensitive topic without offending anyone. A good book can take places you’ve never been.

A great book not only takes you to places you’ve never been, but has those places linger in your thoughts after the final page is turned.

I mean...just wow. This is an amazing, amazing book. Laughed, cried, raged, hoped.

I really wanted to love this book, but I fear it got great reviews because of the topic, not the delivery. I felt it dragged and some of the minor characters were flat. I liked the historical references such as Emmett Till, and Chris’s character felt more realistic.

Also, many schools (including mom) are using this book, and having a book that is sponsored by the BLM movement, a political movement, as part of a curriculum seems like it will isolate kids, not bring them together. As a choice . .

This book took me on an emotional roller coaster ride. Not gonna lie, I cried a lot while reading this one. 10/10 would recommend though
