This was a well crafted retelling of an old Russian fairy tale. I liked reading about the world, the stories, and the characters. I didn’t exactly identify with any of the characters but I liked them and wished them well. I liked that some of the enemies were not necessarily villains but well meaning folks trying to figure out the right thing to do. I loved the spirit creatures. It was an interesting look at a culture far removed rom my own as well. I will be looking for more of Katherine Arden’ ...more
