A work of art in itself. I've been practically living in this book for the past two weeks, following in the traces of Theo and Boris, a disturbingly beautiful reality with a well-defined message for the world.

Loved the beginning. Boy loses mother to an explosion and meets mysterious man. The boy scrambles to move on in life and has some good support from a friend's family. Then boy's dad comes into the picture - Las Vegas, Boris, drug scene not engaging at all (could have cut out about 200 pages). The book tries to redeem itself, but never quite recovers. Parts of it reminded me of great expectations ( not sure why).
