2.5 stars - Dark Mystery/Suspense/Thriller

I'm usually a fan of this author, especially her Will Trent series, but I didn't like this book. I'm used to her writing about serious, disturbing subject matter, and I read a lot of dark suspense and thrillers. I'm not squeamish about violence in books, but this story is abhorrently and unnecessarily graphic at times. I've seen some reviewers call it torture porn, and I can see why.

I have been reading a lot of YA books and while I find them amazing and very entertaining it was really nice to step back into the world of an adult book. WOW did I pick a doozie of a book to read too. The was a thriller and a standalone and I LOVED it. I have not read a book by Karin Slaughter (that I can recall I haven't) but after this book it will not me my last :)
