Premise: At the age of 16 folks go through cosmetic surgery, allowing them to change their status from "Ugly" to "Pretty." The theory behind this dystopian world is that if everyone is beautiful, then everyone gets equal status. I wasn't sure I was going to like this book. I'm definitely not usually into dystopia, sort of sci-fi books, and this one has been on my to-read shelf for a long time.
I think this was really well done, it was a little cheesy and predictable at times. But I also think it had some really great life lessons. Of course, it left you with a major cliff-hanger at the end, so now I'm going to have to read the next in the series!

I really liked the idea of this book, but I could've done with more action. It felt like the story just drifted from point to point and more description would've really helped
