I loved this book. A book about books, love, redemption, and life.
I can relate to the story of a little girl changing someone's life completely, because my Zoey is that person for many people, not excluding myself. I also know how power of books to transform a person. And that love, love changes everything.
I tagged a lot of quotes from the book and they do a better job than I ever could to sum everything up. ...more

A.J. Fikry owns the only bookstore on Angel Island. He is grieving and depressed after the death of his wife in an auto accident when someone leaves him a gift in his store that changes his life. I loved the characters and the descriptions of books and bookselling. I found some parts near the end of the book really took away from the main story for me so that's why it's not a 5 star read in my case. I still highly recommend the book. ...more
