Enjoyable characters, in a nice steampunk setting, and good pacing. I got through it quickly, which is always a good sign.
I finished this book about a week ago, and it continues to stick with me--always a good sign! And it's not because of the airship pirates or the zombies or the goggles and gas masks, although all of that is way cool. It's really because of the characters and the choices they have to make (or have made in the past) and the consequences they have to live with--especially the protagonist, Briar. I learned that Boneshaker is going to be made into a movie while reading the book. Oddly, I can envision the theme-park ride more easily than I can empathize with the characters.
My very favorite book of 2009. Not the best book I read, but absolutely a wonderful, fun and even interesting diversion.
