Terrible and so historically inaccurate. Why did Anne have two older brothers when it was clear that it was just Mary, Anne, and George? I agree with the other reviews that there was an unhealthy obsession with rape: everyone seemed to be raping (or attempting to rape) everyone else. Even Anne says it "Beggared belief that two kings had raped Mary". I get that Alison doesn't like Anne; it's evident in this book. Why present Mary Boleyn as not wanting either king when she definitely did? I hate n ...more

I enjoyed this book and thought it was much better than the other two in the series so far. Anne was an interesting heroine and though I didn’t agree with all her choices she really was quite likeable in some parts. Part 4 (about Anne’s imprisonment and execution) was my favourite and I thought it dipped slightly in the middle. The divorce took a long time to come and not much really happened in that time other than Anne and Henry getting increasingly frustrated and irritating to read about.
