Waktu pertama kali ngeliat buku ini, saia kira cerita petualangan ala LoTR ato Earthsea. Abis kayaknya setting medieval epik fantasi gitu. Tapi ternyata, ini buku politik!
Ceritanya terbagi dalam 3 pov. Mas Rao, si putra mahkota yang kena kutukan Shaod dan harus dibuang ke kota terkutuk Elantris. I'm not very well-read when it comes to fantasy, but I'm trying to remedy that (Hoping to read WoT, Malazan, and Sword of Truth). I have a stack of Brandon's books on my shelf, but I thought I should try to knock of some of the shorter stand-alones before getting into a series.

A really good fantasy fiction write up. Just taking away one star for making the ending more or less predictable. I'm glad there is a sequel on the way tho. Sanderson tends to make his sequels masterpieces which grow on a very solid foundation laid down by the first book in the series

would have gave it a five if the entire book was like the ending. really slow beggining tho. Great for a debut
