Waktu pertama kali ngeliat buku ini, saia kira cerita petualangan ala LoTR ato Earthsea. Abis kayaknya setting medieval epik fantasi gitu. Tapi ternyata, ini buku politik!

Ceritanya terbagi dalam 3 pov. Mas Rao, si putra mahkota yang kena kutukan Shaod dan harus dibuang ke kota terkutuk Elantris. Mbak Sue eh Sarene, tunangan Mas Rao yang mau menyelidiki "kematian" suaminya. A really good fantasy fiction write up. Just taking away one star for making the ending more or less predictable. I'm glad there is a sequel on the way tho. Sanderson tends to make his sequels masterpieces which grow on a very solid foundation laid down by the first book in the series ...more
