I may or may not review this properly when I decide how I really feel about it.

For now, I'm at sixes and sevens and this is my knee-jerk reaction to it:

There were plot holes the size of volcanic craters, names were thrown in topsy-turvy, and more than once I caught myself wondering what in the bloody hell was going on.
The paranormal element was clumsy.
Cillian's character felt redundant and by the time he did get involved in the actual story at around 90%—in a Deus-ex-machina, eye-roll-inducing

As an aside...
I believe it would really help the reader to have read Free Falling prior to this story, if not the whole previous series for the loose connections of various other characters that show up throughout.

This is a decent story, and laid the foundation of what could be an interesting series. I think to me, though, that the story felt rather disjointed and a little awkward, and the proofreading errors pulled me out of the flow.

The cliffhangar ending did force me to be glad I had purchase

I really enjoyed this book. The action was fantastic. The tension between the two male leads thick enough to... well.... yeah. Molasses.

Fantastic story. Looking forward to seeing where they go!

I do enjoy the story, love the characters, but I can't shake the feeling that this is just another Ty & Zane doing another mission!
So I might be bias since I'm rotten for Cut & Run.
But this series has potential, right now I'm on the second book and all the cut & run similarities completely gone!

And LOVE THE COVER!!! ♥_♥

Unsatisfying ending and not happy with the hint that Cillian and Prophet might be involved in the future. Is this going to turn into an M/M/M? Because, then it's goodbye. ...more

I enjoyed this one.

But there are a lot of problems with the story. Prophet and Tom are new partners working for a mercenary private contractor firm. They are sent to investigate the death of a man who was a childhood friend of Prophet's and I couldn't figure out why. Why would a private contracting firm give a shit? Who's paying them to look into it? Or is that part of the benefits package. Ya get healthcare, stock options and the firm will look into the murders of any family members or close f

Probably my 2nd favorite couple next to Ty & Zane. But the similarities between the two couples are so great, I can't help but picture Zane as Tom and Ty as Prophet the whole time I was reading it. But I didn't mind it one tiny bit! SE Jakes just made a new fan! I can't wait to read the 2nd book :) ...more

One star off for the cliffhanger ending.
