Josh Lanyon has written a brilliant sequel to his 2007 short story, "In a Dark Wood". The new story picks up two and a half years later in the lives of the two main characters, Tim & Luke. Unlike its predecessor, which was spooky and chilling, The Parting Glass is a heart-wrenching essay on whether two people who still care about each other can nevertheless possibly afford to be in each other's lives.

How is it that I managed to cry for Tim again?
Wow! *sobs* This was an incredible sequel to In A Dark Wood. Josh is hands down my favorite m/m author. And this story is a perfect example of why. In 76 short pages he managed to turn me into a sobbing fucking mess, leaving me feeling bereft (because it was over) and wanting MORE of Tim & Luke.
