Ok, I probably missed the point so I'd be very glad if someone could enlighten me.
This book is technically very good: the main characters are nice, they are good friends and very comfortable with each other - maybe a bit too much - and they both have nice traits. Dino - the private eye - is a little bit old fashioned and restrained, Seth - the mechanic - is more strappy and instinctive and sexually sizzling. So, they've been friends for a while, but suddenly they get closer.

This has to be one of the best friends to lovers, action adventure stories I've ever read! It was so much fun. The story was full of plot and story, as well as some of the best sex scenes written.

I enjoyed the scenes between Dino and Sean and liked their shift from friends to lovers. I thought their connection was shown very well.
During scenes involving just Dino, the writing sometimes veered into grocery list style. Things were spelled out that I feel could’ve been written around. I think part of the problem was the lack of cohesion to the plot until the last quarter of the book. Dino kind of meanders around doing odds and ends for most of the story.
