Fascinating original verse, gritty detecting.
Not always smoothest writing, a little repetition and characters not without their biases. Gripping.

Threw me that the book is in two parts, second half labelled 'book two'

This is a re-read for me. And it's just as good as I remembered. Because I know what's going to happen next, it's also so painful. .. I think Andrea Speed is a very brave author. Because she definitely goes against the norm here. Usually you have certain expectations and she just goes right past those. So in a way we can't be sure what she'll do next.

The way Paris is described though... or more so how he affects people around him. That made me wonder. I know it's fiction here, but....I've never

This could have used some serious editing, but overlooking that, the two stories - Infected and Prey- were quite good.
