What Members Thought

Even if the story is only about 5000 words, Josh Lanyon is able to write something quite thoughtful. Here's Ford, only twenty-three years old, suffering from what he thought as heart attack. But as Ford talks to the emergency doctor who treats him, we find out that there are quite a lot of things happening in Ford's life right now. This snippet ends with a hopeful note of a beautiful beginning between Ford and the doctor.

"Heart Trouble" is like cotton candy; it's light and sweet and fluffy, but there isn't a lot of substance to it. That's not necessarily a bad thing—sometimes cotton candy is exactly what you want—as in the case of this well-written romantic fluff that's just long enough to satisfy.

It's a sweet albeit too short story. Maybe Mr. Lanyon should consider using this as prequel or something. There's definitely romance (or lust?) developing bewteen Ford and Jacob!

Sweet story, this one actually tugged on my heartstrings a little. Who doesn't have days like Ford once in a while? Sometimes you just need a hug.

Excellent short story! The Coda on Josh's website was a wonderful follow up too.
