I love Josh Lanyon. I love his mysteries, I love his plots and characters and their relationships.

This is a lovely little novella with a slight noir feel, even if it is told in the present day. Probably because of the mystery - the main character is an author writing about the long unsolved case about a 50s starlet. I love the narrative character. So sweet and vulnerable, yet strong. Josh Lanyon excels in portraying that type of character and it certainly comes through here.

Hollywood glamour and death.

Timothy North is a writer working on a book about the Hollywood actress Eva Aldrich, who was murdered 50 years back. He is typical of Josh Lanyon's protagonist, a writer afflicted with a health problem and the other MC, Jack Brady, is a cop neighbor, another typical.

What makes the story fascinating is the setting and different characters.
