A short story, I read this immediately after the previous so they gel into one smoothly. It's set a few months later with Mark attempting to settle into civilian live and only covers two days though it feels longer with all the introspection.
It's nice to see his doubts and how idealised Stephen is in his eyes, there's hints of Stephen's frustrations though he shows remarkable restraint. Stephen tries to be supportive though he hates the 'inevitable' while Mark is secretly begging for him to dema ...more

Classic understated Lanyon. This was more a vignette than a full on story. Catching up with Mark and Steven a couple months after the end of Bloody. Mark gets a call asking him to come out of retirement and wants Stephen to stop him. Stephen doesn't want him to go, but wants to be supportive. Of course being guys they don't talk about it and Mark almost leaves... oh yeah and someone is of course trying to kill Mark.. Enjoyed it.
