Today I took my time and listened to an unabridged audio edition, and even this time around, it was a pleasure. I enjoyed the pace of Doyle's discoveries, even his emotional state was realistic and well written part of this story. Spain part was a bit on a low key, but still they were intellectually well suited pair. I'm sad, we still didn't get an sequel.

Consistent. That’s the word I would choose to describe Josh Lanyon’s stories, as in consistently great . He knows how to tell a story and tell it well. His characters are emotionally satisfying.
This story is set in the 1940’s and the world views on gay men were quite different than they are now. I think Josh showed this well. It must have been lonely and scary to be a gay man at this time. Nathan Doyle’s situation broke my heart. Not only is he plagued by...

The first book I'd ever read by Josh Lanyon, I wasn't too impressed. But I'm soooo glad that I tried another one that had been recommended by a friend. I would have missed out on a lot of wonderful stories I've enjoyed so far by Josh Lanyon. Especially this one.
As much as I enjoyed the mystery, the relationship building between Doyle and Spain made Snowball in Hell another winner. I hope to read more about them. ...more

This was an excellent read. The mystery was good/interesting and not immediately obvious. As usual the character development was excellent. These guys will haunt me for a long time. It is always hard to leave Josh's character as I feel like I know them and have become part of their lives. Excellent book.
