This is possibly the hardest book I have ever had to review.
Before anything 100/100 - please buy it and read it.

It is aged and reflects a terrible time of war, peace, horrible homosexuality laws and truely awful class stuff.

Because of the above it is a hard read - and for you youngsters it will probably mean nothing and will need frequent wikki links to find out what on earth they are talking about.

What can I say about this haunting story that keeps tugging at my heart and brain? Others have said so much. Laurie is a man of his times who never feels connected to others, yet he connects to two people in his life so far, Andrew and Ralph. One a ideal of purity and one no longer an ideal but a real man. Because we are inside Laurie's brain and heart, we see as he sees and that sometimes that is incomplete. It is his story to reveal and ours to experience.
