Entertaining. JCP is always good. This isn't my favorite work by this author, but I definitely enjoyed it. It's a fascinating premise.

If an author can lure me through nearly four hundred pages about on magic (about which I know little) and reality TV (which I despise) I'd call it nothing short of wizardry. Wizardry it is, then. I'm very impressed indeed. In truth, it's just really good storytelling: It's knowing when to help her readers sort through the cast of characters (there are a bunch), and doing it with such a light touch you barely realise you're being guided. Three and a half stars just for the unique setting of a magician realty show. The characters were interesting but the format limited their full development. I liked the main characters but wanted more interaction between them to show the growth of their feelings. The story did keep my interest but it was not about magic just about stunts. I would have liked more explanation of the Truth Magic. Is the start of a series? Needed to feel the emotion and desire, not just be told about it. Question: w

I just finished reading Magic Mansion and I did it again. After I read Starving Years I said I wish I would have read along and voted and now I wish I would have voted this time too. What a fantastic story. I couldn't read it fast enough to see what happens next. I love Jordan's writing and how she is able to put you right into the story. It was so well-researched and believable. What a wonderful imagination and such a gift with words she has.
