This story is a good length, has a lot of depth, and strongly played, demential characters. Harper Knows the psychology of her character and presents whole, complicated, and utterly believable people, complete with flaws, and strengths. Even the lesser characters are nicely grey and believable. It would have been easy to turn the ex into the bad guy as a plot device, or hide a weak plot behind a deluge of sex-capades. Harper easily avoids both, instead giving us an intact, enjoyable story.

Harper has such a talent in making you feel the character's emotions and involves you so much in the story that it feels like you're a part of it. You can picture the scenery and smell the smells. I loved this book as I do all Harper's work. She always puts just the right mixture of everything you want in a story then amplifys it to blow you away.
