Harper Fox is an exceptionally gifted writer. Scrap Metal is a testament to that. Because you don't simply read this story. You experience it.

You experience the breathtaking beauty of the Isle of Arran, and Seacliff Farm. The elements of nature. The sounds of vehicles, animals and the people (at some point I realised I read the dialogue with a Scottish intonation. No kidding.)

Harper has such a talent in making you feel the character's emotions and involves you so much in the story that it feels like you're a part of it. You can picture the scenery and smell the smells. I loved this book as I do all Harper's work. She always puts just the right mixture of everything you want in a story then amplifys it to blow you away. ...more

This is such a beautifully written story. If you were a farmers kid, or still live in the farming community you will really relate to this story. Harper does wonderful descriptions bringing the reader right into the characters world. It's an easy, sweet read with character that are easy to fall in love with. ...more
